QikCharge – A Mobile App for EV Charging

Helping users find, book, and pay for charging stations without second-guessing availability, cost, or location.

QikCharge is a live EV charging app that helps users find nearby stations, check availability, and make payments — all in one place.

My goal was to redesign the flow for clarity, speed, and trust — helping users make faster decisions, especially when on the move.

Turning Frustrations Into Features

User interviews and product feedback revealed 4 recurring frustrations: unreliable station data, clunky payments, lack of real-time updates, and inconsistent pricing. Each of these directly informed what we designed:

Charger Availability

Charger Availability

We prioritized real-time availability and status at map level.

No Live Updates

No Live Updates

We added instant status refresh and fallback nearby options.

Broken Payments

Broken Payments

We added upfront cost breakdown, confirmation screens, and retry options.

Inconsistent Pricing

Inconsistent Pricing

Users now see cost/min clearly before they start.

User Flow

Visual design.

We used a clean, minimal interface to show key data upfront: charger type, availability, cost, and slot status.

Outcome.

QikCharge turned scattered, high-friction charging into a smoother experience — by surfacing the right info at the right time.

We simplified the map-first flow, made pricing and slot visibility instant, and built trust in the payment process.
